Hello, I made another album.

"Nocturnes" is a longer and slower moving collection of songs, even by my standards. Most of the tracks were simple loops and layers that I set up and let flicker and drone away in the background while I busied my self elsewhere in my room. Occasionally I might step in to tweak a layer slightly, but I was experimenting heavily with letting the sound bites run on for long enough that the character would change on its own, the fidelity lessen over time as it repeated more and more.

I tossed around the phrase "Decomposing Compositions" as an album or song title, but I feel that is too disingenuous or pretentious to label them as, so I kept it simple: these are sleep songs.

They are sleep songs partially because they lack auditory intrigue, making them well suited to run in the background.

They are sleep songs partially because the loops and layers themselves were slipping off, becoming more hazy, drifting into a more sedate state.
~~~
And they are also sleep songs because I napped or rested my eyes to at least 3 of them while they were being recorded {Theta Waves, Nocturne V, and Midday Nocturne}.

Most of these were recorded in the Summer of 2019, which was one of the busiest and most joyful seasons of my life. I created them to lure my mind into relaxing in the process, and I think in part I succeeded. I hope they can do the same for you.

Still more releases to come. I am forcing myself to put out all of my back-catalogue before I release the more recent project I've been working on over this past year. That's the one that I really can't wait to release, I've never been more proud or gratified of any pieces of music that I've created than of that the ones that this project has brought about.
